Volunteer with Us
Rainbow Knights is a volunteer-run and -led organization. We wouldn't exist without a deep team of committed people giving their time and energy to our mission of supporting the Stoughton-area queer community.
Want to make a difference close to home? To meet and connect with passionate local queer folks and allies? Please consider becoming a year-round volunteer with us!
Not sure which role is the right fit, or want to learn more before applying? Reach out at info@rainbowknights.org and we'll be happy to chat.
Applications for both roles are open through . Apply below, and reach out any time if you have questions.
Board Director
Board Directors help lead Rainbow Knights, guiding our direction, stewarding our resources, and championing our mission across the community.
What you'll do
- Attend and engage in regular planning meetings (approximately once per month) and our Annual Retreat each September, contributing to productive discussions and informed decision-making.
- Between meetings, take on tasks and action items that support our projects, programs, and events, like Pride and event planning or marketing efforts.
- Assist with fundraising efforts and events to sustain and grow our work.
- Serve as an ambassador to the community, helping grow the organization and steward more people toward getting involved.
Term: Two years. Elections to the Board are held annually in October.
Rainbow Squire
Squires are our community's ongoing volunteer base: the folks who show up for Rainbow Knights throughout the year and help bring our programs, projects, and events to life. It's a low-commitment, high-impact way to be part of the Knights without taking on Board-level responsibility.
What you'll do
- Participate in our monthly planning meetings when able (minimum expectation: four meetings per year).
- Volunteer at two or more events throughout the year, like Pride, Queer Prom, tabling at regional Pride events, or game nights.
- Help out with tasks and projects supporting our Programming, Marketing, or Finance Committees.
Term: One year, running October to September. Squires re-apply each fall.
Not ready to apply? Come to a meeting.
You don't have to be a Squire, or hold any role at all, to volunteer with Rainbow Knights. Our monthly planning meetings are open to any and all, and they're the best way to meet the crew and find your place. If you're thinking about getting involved, just show up and say hello.
